Evaluation of the clinical effects of impacted lower third molar tooth on adjacent oral tissues

Objective: Impacted tooth develops when the fails to erupt into its anatomical functional position. Theaim of this prospective study was find out common clinical effects impacted lower molar on adjacent tissuesand evaluate relationship between signs and symptoms as regards gender agerespectively. Material Methods: Data for were obtained using a well-structured questionnaireat Teem Dental Hospital Warri, Nigeria. The data included age, sex, features patients withconfirmed diagnosis third following examination radiographic investigation.Data analysed chi-square employed. Results: A total 131 examined, 57 (44.5%)were males 74 (56.5%) females within ages 10-40 years. Patients 21-25 yearshad highest frequency (32.1%) molar. It observed that had agender predilection towards than males. Inflamed gingivae around 3rd 60(45.8%) painon 72(55.0%) most predominantly associated with teeth. Nosignificant association age (0.909) (0.461) against impactedtooth but significant (0.001) sign observed.
